For many, gender-affirming surgery is a significant step. Here we go through what top surgery involves and how we work to make the whole process feel safe.
Top surgery is a collective term for chest surgery within the gender-affirming process. For FTM (female to male) it is about creating a flatter and more masculine chest contour. For MTF (male to female) it is instead about shaping a softer and more feminine contour, often with implants.
The technique, incisions and placement of the nipples are tailored to your anatomy and your goals. We go through carefully what is possible and what you can expect in terms of healing and scars.
The most important thing for me is that you feel seen. We plan the procedure together, based on who you are and where you are heading.
Depending on your wishes, other procedures may be relevant, such as Adam's apple reduction or body contouring. We consider the whole picture and plan at a pace that suits you.
You see the same surgeon from the first consultation to the final follow-up. This continuity means we know your history and can follow your healing closely. If you'd like to talk through your options, you are warmly welcome to book a consultation.
When you are ready to bring your questions into a conversation, the first consultation is the place to do it. Tell us what you are considering, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
